How do we calculate the value of your cushion cover?
Techniques used:
The canvas felts with water, soap and friction with the 100% alpaca fibre. It takes about two to three hours to make a piece at this stage. Depending on the inspiration, certain elements are felted by this same technique or by the technique of needle felting and often a mixture of the two.
Peculiarity of felting:
The challenge lies in making the final product appear. By felting, the carded wool contracts and makes the canvas shrink. This is all the more true since alpaca wool is very fine compared to that of sheep. It becomes more difficult to maintain the desired effect while maintaining the desired dimensions.
Maintenance: The decorative cushion is a work of art but on a cushion! Avoid washing as much as possible.
You remove the liner and wash the envelope in cold water and very little soap. You throw the water away and start again with new cold water without soap to rinse. You never rub. Do not twist, rather place the wet cover on a towel and roll to remove excess water. You twist the towel, taking care to remove the cover and you start again a few times. Then you let it dry flat on a dry towel.
Cushion cover description:
The cushion cover is made of about 80% to 90% alpaca and the other part is merino wool.
The back of the cushion is made of raw cotton as well as a zipper.
